Mountain Lion Hunt

"After returning home fom a successful mountain lion hunt in Wyoming, I would like to express my appreciation to you for a great hunting experience. I can't say enough about the great service you provided. The accomodations and food were great too. As for the hunting, I feel like you went out of your way to make my hunting trip a success. I would recommend to anyone Mule Shoe Outfitters for any hunt. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience and all the effort that went into my successful hunt."

One of the most important hunts of my life

"I entrusted Mule Shoe outfitters with one of the most important hunts of my life. My Grand Slam ram hunt was perfect in every way. I had a bit of luck, but my success ultimately rested on the exceptional skills of Justin, Sandy and Cody. You can bet I'll be back in Wyoming with Mule Shoe Outfitters the next time I can Draw a permit!" Dave Walton, Spring Creek, NV 775-738-7551

Sheep Hunt

"Simply put, my sheep hunt with Muleshoe Outfitters was one of the greatest hunting adventures I have ever experienced. Justin, Sandy, and the crew were a lot of fun and worked extremely hard to insure that my hunt was successful on all accounts. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a great outfitter, a good hunt, and wonderful people. Thank you for all the memories and I look forward to hunting with you guys again someday. "  - Ryan Coffey

This Much Fun

"Never would I have imagined that I would have had this much fun on my first western hunt. Justin and Sandy are great people to be around and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Highlight of the trip was my first afternoon lion." Patrick Marshall, Illinois, 618-475-2117

2nd Hunt with Mule Shoe

"My Lion hunt was my second trip with Justin and Sandy.  I had a blast and would recommend it to anyone.  I shot a really nice Tom, a nice 5x7 elk, and my dad also shot a nice 5x5 elk.  Justin and Sandy are no only a great outfitter, but also great people to be around."  - Sam McClure, Pennsylvania, 724-354-4561

Great Western Adventure

"I have been a hunter for more than 50 years.  I have used outfitters in Canada, Newfoundland, Namibia and Montana.  None can compare to Muleshoe Outfitters and the husband and wife team of Justin and Sandy Wright.  I have hunted with Muleshoe on three occasions harvesting trophy elk and trophy black bear.  I will endeavor to hunt with them every time I can get the out of state license draw.  This is a true western adventure in the Great Rocky Mountains and the locations, food, horses, guides, and all around accomodations are superb.  Justin Wright is the best hunter I have ever known." A Hunt of a Lifetime

"This past winter (2005) I had the chance to go mountain lion hunting with Justin and Sandy Wright.  It was the kind of hunt that I will be able to look back and tell my kids and friends that I actually shot a lion at age 12!  Even though it was tough climbing up the mountains, boy was it worth it!  I never though I would be that close to a lion in my whole life.  My dad has hunted for years with Justin and Sandy and he wanted to share the experience with me too!  Justin explained everthing about riding snowmobiles, tracking the lion and treeing it.  It was the best memory of my life and I would give anything just to do it again." Kiefer TeGrootenhuis, age 12

Fantastic Sheep Hunt

"Last fall I had a fantastic sheep hunt with Justin and Sandy Wright.  They were very hardworking, capable and fun to be around.  Their stock, equipment, food and camp facilities were exceptional.  The Wrights were certainly willing to go that extra mile to insure that I had a great experience.  The area they hunt is extremely beautiful, remote and rugged with lots of game.  Hunting with Justin and Sandy is as good as it gets, and I can hardly wait to hunt again with Mule Shoe Outfitters!"  Ron Shanks, Wyoming, 307-382-7578

200 Pound Mountain Lion

"I had a great time elk hunting with you folks in 2003, so I thought that I would go back last year and try to get a mountain lion. I had no idea that it would be that much fun. The food was great and the hospitality was fantastic. I still don't believe how well your children behave. The 200 lbs. mountain lion was by far the biggest surprise of the week long trip. I know Stick Stecker and I talk about what a great time we had while we were there. I hope to do more hunting with you in the future. I know Stick will be back when his son graduates from college.   Thanks again for the great memories." Bill Cavanaugh, Iowa, 641-357-8375

Tremendous Trophies

"Let me begin by saying what a great time Sharon and I had hunting with your outfit in September. We were treated like royalty and must say that our guide Ralph is truly an expert on the area we hunted in. With the extremely rare occurance of both Sharon and I drawing bull moose tags the same year, we searched for the best and that's what we found with Mule Shoe Outfitters. The bulls we took are tremendous trophies with mine making the Boone and Crockett's 26th awards book with an official score of 144 2/8"! If anyone is looking for the hunt of a lifetime you can tell them that we said to book with you guys ASAP!"  Joseph and Sharon DiPasqua, Wyoming, 307-331-1281

Country is Spectacular

"I hunted mule deer with Mule Shoe Outfitters during the 2003 and 2005 seasons. I had great hunts both years. The country is spectacular, the accommodations were great and I was fortunate to take beautiful 4 x 4 mule deer both years. I would definitely recommend Mule Shoe Outfitters to anyone looking for a great Wyoming high country mule deer hunt." Trent Carman, Colorado 303-721-6643

Great Camp, Excellent Stock

"In 2004 I finally drew a non-resident moose tag for Wyoming.  While researching areas to apply for, I talked to biologists and some outfitters.  One of the outfitters I talked to was Justin Wright of Muleshoe Outfitters.  Talking to him actually helped influence the area I applied for.  I was lucky and drew a tag for my first choice area.  Arrangements were made for a horseback hunt.  The hunt went very well.  Justin guaranteed he and his outfit would work hard for me and try to give me what I wanted in my hunt and he was true to his word.  Not even heavy snows kept us down.  Justin and Sandy provided a great camp, excellent stock, great meals and fabulous company.  The country was beautiful and after chasing moose around for a few days with the recurve, I connected with a great bull with the rifle while packing out of the high country in deep snow.  It was a good ending to a great hunt.  Thanks Justin and Sandy.  I hope to get back and hunt for elk or a good lion in the future." Uncanny ability to spot game

"Justin and Sandy have outfitted this country for many years. With Justin's uncanny ability to spot game it wasn't long after we had tethered our horses that he spotted three bucks above us." (Huntin' Fool, Vol. 10 Issue 12, Dec. 2005)

"My hunts with Mule Shoe Outfitters have been outstanding. Justin and Sandy never fail to provide the absolute best. I highly recommend Mule Shoe Outfitters and look forward to many superior hunts in the future! Thanks Justin and Sandy!!" Darryl Rodgers, California, 707-226-6544

2 Bear Hunts & 1 Lion Hunt

"I’ve hunted with Justin and Sandy on two bear hunts and a lion hunt, being successful on all three occasions. If you’re on your game, Justin is certainly on his. Everything that is promised for the hunt is there, plus great hospitality." Jeff Haugland, Iowa, 515-464-2396

Fun Elk Hunt

"Thanks for everything. The food, the tents, the mules, etc. This hunt was my most funnest hunt ever. I would love to come back again to do another hunt with you guys. When we got home, we did some whitetail hunting and I shot a doe. Then another during the regular gun season. But still it wasn't as fun as the elk hunt. I hope to see you all sometime soon." Ryan Nell. age 17, Wisconsin, Dick Nell, 262-628-3413.

Best Elk Hunt of My Life

"Thank you for taking us up to your camp and allowing me to have the best elk hunt of my life. Thanks for the best food and company and for providing us with a fabulous elk hunt. I hope to visit you quite often in the future." Chris Nell, age 15

Rob Brennan

Trophy Game, Excellent Guides

"I have had great hunts with Mule Shoe Outfitters. The hunts were everything I imagined and more: beautiful scenery, great camps, trophy game, excellent guides, and wonderful food. The hunts left me with priceless memories, a freezer filled with meat, and unique trophies for my walls. I recommend Mule Shoe Outfitters for a once in a lifetime hunting experience." Rob Brennan, Minnesota, 507-625-2771.

300+ Bull Elk

"I have had the best of luck and times hunting with Justin and Sandy Wright. I have taken a number of 300+ bull elk and that has been from the early season of bugling to finding them in the late season. I have also taken deer and black bear. One of the best hunts that I've been on is when my daughter, Amber and I went lion hunting and she got a book tom and I got one also. Anyway, it's been great food and hunting and I will go back as soon as I can." Tim Delance, Iowa, 712-273-5062.

Heath's lion

A Black Bear, 5x5 Elk and 150# Mountain Lion

"I have gone on three hunts so far with Mule Shoe Outfitters. I've taken a black bear, a 5x5 elk, and a 150# mountain lion. All were quality animals. Justin and Sandy Wright have worked hard at putting me on the animals and I have had a lot of fun along the way. I would recommend Mule Shoe Outfitters to anyone wanting a quality wilderness hunt with a top notch outfitter." Heath Kooima, Iowa, 712-476-9281.

Ryan's archery elk

Very accommodating to my Archery needs

"This was my first western hunt and I can't imagine it gets a whole lot better. Great food, great guides, and lots of aimals. They were very accommodating to my archery needs. I'll come back any chance I get." Ryan Garden, Minnesota, 320-654-6900.

Richie and Larry with their lions

Great Lion Hunt

"Thank you for the great lion hunt. You are good people and your guide service proves it. I have never been with an outfitter (and I have been with many) who is more capable, better equipped, or more helpful. When I called Justin and asked about a lion hunt, he made no guarantees except to work hard for me. My friend and I each killed a nice lion in three days hunting. Wow! Keep up the good work. I will be back as soon as possible for a mule deer hunt." Larry Eekhoff, Minnesota, 320-329-3171.

Hounds well trained

"Just wanted to say thanks to Mule Shoe Outfitters. The hunts have been exciting and you never know what you'll see. Moose, mulies, elk, etc. The lion hunt was awesome. Country was fair going and beautiful. The hounds were well trained and had lots of experience. I'll never forget that Big Tom treed. It was awesome. Looking forward to another hunt." Richard Schulte, Minnesota, 320-564-3102.

Trophy Sheep

"Thanks, Sandra and Justin, for a great sheep hunt this fall. This trophy sheep will look great on my wall. I sure did enjoy the hunt and the beautiful scenery of the Wind River Mountains. It was sure nice to go hunting with an outfitter that has good equipment and knows his stuff. Thanks again Mule Shoe Outfitters." Terry Dockter, Wyoming, 307-875-6882.

The weather in Wyoming is truly unpredictable. The fall hunting weather is usually mild; it will be warm to moderate during the day and will chill down, possibly below zero, as soon as the sun sets in the evening. The most important thing is for you not to get wet; once you get wet, then you will get cold, so please prepare yourself to remain as dry as possible. Snowstorms are likely during your hunt, and in the mountains the storms pose blizzard conditions.

When packing your bag(s) for the trip in, it is best to use 2 or more medium to small sized duffel bags rather than one large duffel bag and with no hard edges.

If you need emergency contact information for your family while you are in hunting, please let us know and we can provide the information for them prior to your hunt.
