"Successful
& enjoyable hunt!"
"I
hunted Mountain Lion with Mule Shoe Outfitters the first week
of December of 2010 and the outstanding hounds treed four female
cats in 10 days. I wanted a male lion and declined to take
any of the female cats; however, we had a great time on my
first lion hunt in the western USA and we have some great memories
and pictures of the experience.
Justin
W. gave me a very fair offer to return the third week of
January
of 2012. The snow was 30" deep in the high
country and on the sixth day the hounds treed a male and female
lion in different trees. We harvested the male cat after snow
shoeing up the mountain to the barking dogs. We also saw a
black wolf on this day only 400 to 500 yards from where the
cat was taken. We saw many Mule deer, Elk and a few Moose while
hunting the cats.
All
members of the Mule Shoe Outfitters team:: (Justin + Sandra
+ Cody
+ Mike) :: did an outstanding job. They are very dedicated
in trying to make your hunt successful and enjoyable. They
are "just good honest hard working people" !!!!!!!!!!!
I would recommend their services to anyone who wishes to experience
the beautiful Wyoming country in search of the many animals
available in Wyoming.

"The
'real deal' Wyoming sheep hunt"
Justin,
Sandy, & Cody, Sorry this has taken so long to get
back to you. Hope this accolade is appropriate. "If
you want the 'real deal' on a Wyoming sheep hunt, I recommend
Muleshoe Outfitters of Pinedale, Wyoming! I hunted with
them in September, 2011.This is a true mountain hunt, done
in the "old style'" in the Wind River Mountains.
From the ranch headquarters we trailered 4 mules and 3
horses an hour and a half to the trail head. From there
we packed in 5 hours, to a beautiful alpine lake at 10,025
feet elevation. The next day, we backpacked up to a basin
at an elevation of 11,000 feet. This is absolutely spectacular
country, with crystal-clear lakes, and granite and snow-capped
basins.I shot my sheep on the fourth day. My guide Cody,
with outstanding help from Troy and Jim, made the hunt
one of those events that will last in memory for a lifetime.
If you want an easy hunt for Bighorn Sheep, do not apply
here. But if you want a remarkable hunt, in magnificant
country - the Wind River mountains of Wyoming - then contact
Muleshoe Outfitters, and apply in Area 8/23!" T.R.

"Feels
like home!"
"I
told my wife before I left on my spring bear hunt that I
feel at home when i'm at Justin and
Sandy's place. I have been on two successful hunts with muleshoe
harvesting a mountian lion and a black bear. They run their
buiness the way I believe every buisness should be ran they
wake up in the morning work hard all day (no matter what
time the day ends) and the whole family helps out. Justin
and Cody hunt harder than anybody I have meet. Sandy's cooking
is in my book world class. Good equipment, good cabins, good
stock, good people. I will return to muleshoe outfitters
for my next big game adventure!"

"Another
Great Hunt"
Thanks
for giving my family a great and awesome experience! I
do believe they now have a feel of
mountain hunting. The success was good. Camp food was outstanding.
The horse and mule riding was interesting. Mule Shoe is a
class act. Thanks and continue good hunting.” Ken
Mulder, Grand Rapids, MI
“Thank you for the truly amazing experience. I can’t
say I have ever done anything like this before. It was one
of the most physically demanding things I have ever done,
but the reward for all the hard work was even better than
I had anticipated. I have both of you and the rest of the
folks at Mule Shoe to thank for that. This experience was
something I will never forget and hope to do again in the
future. I enjoyed the many games of B.S. and the good times
shared over a glass or two (or ten) of whiskey. Best of luck
to you both the rest of the season.” Ryan Mulder, Grand
Rapids, MI 616-240-2443
“
Wow, what an amazing experience! We couldn’t have asked
for a better group of guides, better hosts, or a better experience
overall. You, and Mule Shoe as a whole, are first class all
the way. Great Hunt! Great People! Great Food! Thanks!!” Dan
Vander Baan, Comstock Park, MI 616-617-0208
“
I greatly appreciate the experience and I had a great time.
So I’ll sum it all up, 'great food, great times,
and great hunt!'" Ryan Mulder, Grand Rapids,

just got home from a father-son hunt with Mule Shoe Outfitters.
Erik and I had successful
hunts. This was the funnest most exciting hunt we have been
on. Going on a hunt like this with my son makes it that much
more memorable. The Pinedale area is a scenic hunters paradise
you will see alot of game. Justin, Sandy, and Cody are all
accomplished guides. The accomidations were great and the

"I
have been a hunter for more than 50 years. I have
used outfitters in Canada, Newfoundland, Namibia and Montana. None
can compare to Muleshoe Outfitters and the husband and

with Muleshoe on three occasions harvesting trophy elk
and trophy black bear. I will endeavor to hunt with
them every time I can get the out of state license draw. This
is a true western adventure in the Great Rocky Mountains

Hunt of a Lifetime
"This
past winter (2005) I had the chance to go mountain
lion hunting with Justin and Sandy Wright. It was
the kind of hunt that I will be able to look back and
tell my kids and friends that I actually shot a lion
at age 12! Even though it was tough climbing up
the mountains, boy was it worth it! I never though
I would be that close to a lion in my whole life. My
dad has hunted for years with Justin and Sandy and he
wanted to
share the experience with me too! Justin explained
everthing about riding snowmobiles, tracking the lion
and treeing it. It was the best memory of my
life and I would give anything just to do it again." -

Fantastic Sheep Hunt
"Last fall I had a fantastic
sheep hunt with Justin and Sandy Wright. They were very
hardworking, capable and fun to be around. Their stock,
equipment, food and camp facilities were exceptional. The
Wrights were certainly willing to go that extra mile to insure
that I had a great experience. The
area they hunt is extremely beautiful, remote and rugged with
lots of game. Hunting with Justin and Sandy is as good
as it gets, and I can hardly wait to hunt again with Mule Shoe
Outfitters!" -

Zoromski's Mountain Lion

(2011) |
200 Pound Mountain Lion
"Mule Shoe Outfitters - Wyoming.
1-13-11. Day 6 of a 7 day hunt. I shot a Big Tom Mountain Lion
at 8' with a .357 pistol. Three dogs (Walkers) tracked the
lion into a cave. Because of this the dogs GPS tracking was
not giving us a signal and their barking was difficult to pinpoint.
It took us over 3 hours on snowmobile and snowshoes to find
the dogs cornering the lion. All 3 dogs were wounded and bleeding
from the lions claws. The lion then ran out 10' from us with
3 wounded dogs fearlessly on his tail blocking my shot. The
lion crawled in another deeper dark cave 80 yards up the valley.
My guide says "You need to crawl in there and kill that
***"**. After considering the flashlight, pistol and
belly crawl option, I hesitated and said "I'm not going
in that cave, I would like to see my girls again" So we
then carefully walked above the cave peering through the cracks
trying not to slip in. I was nervous to say the least. We spotted
the lion's eyes through an 8" opening staight down with
a flashlight and shot him at 8' away in the head with the pistol.
A shot with my bow would have been impossible. It then took
us over 1/2 hour to unwedge him in the jagged tight cave as
he was up side down and in a very tight spot. We had been concerned
of getting ourselves stuck as well. We snaked him out the 12'
deep cave on our bellys. I dragged the cat 300 yards through
the snow and sat on him on the snowmobile 10 miles out of the
mountains.
All 3 dogs will be fine. (Trapper, Winnie, and Magnum) Magnum
and Winnie were taken in for stitches. Magnum had been out
for 48 hours tracking in the deep snow without food and still
had all the will to keep going. Amazing animals. The outfiitter
and his guides are fearless and awesome people. I had a great
time hunting with them and would recommend them to anyone. The
most exciting hunt ever!" Steve

Tremendous Trophies
"Let me begin by saying
what a great time Sharon and I had hunting with your outfit
in September. We were treated like royalty and must say that
our guide Ralph is truly an expert on the area we hunted
in. With the extremely rare occurance of both Sharon and I
drawing
bull moose tags the same year, we searched for the best and
that's what we found with Mule Shoe Outfitters. The bulls
we took are tremendous trophies with mine making the Boone
and
Crockett's 26th awards book with an official score of 144
2/8"!
If anyone is looking for the hunt of a lifetime you can tell
them that we said to book with you guys ASAP!" -

Great
Camp, Excellent Stock
"In
2004 I finally drew a non-resident moose tag for Wyoming. While
researching areas to apply for, I talked to biologists and
some outfitters. One
of the outfitters I talked to was Justin Wright of Muleshoe
Outfitters. Talking
to him actually helped influence the area I applied for. I
was lucky and drew a tag for my first choice area. Arrangements
were made for a horseback hunt. The hunt went very well. Justin
guaranteed he and his outfit would work hard for me and
try to give me what I wanted in my hunt and he was true to
his word. Not even heavy snows kept us down. Justin
and Sandy provided a great camp, excellent stock, great
meals and fabulous company. The country was beautiful
and after chasing moose around for a few days with the recurve, I
connected with a great bull with the rifle while packing out
of the high country in deep snow. It was a good ending
to a great hunt. Thanks Justin and Sandy. I hope
to get back and hunt for elk or a good lion in the future." -

300+ Bull Elk

have had the best of luck and times hunting with Justin and

that has been from the early season of bugling to finding them

One of the best hunts that I've been on is when my daughter,
Amber and I went lion hunting and she got a book tom and I
got one also. Anyway, it's been great food and hunting and
I will go back as soon as I can." -

The weather in Wyoming is truly unpredictable.
The fall hunting weather is usually mild; it will be warm to
moderate during the day and will chill down, possibly below
zero, as soon as the sun sets in the evening. The most important
thing is for you not to get wet; once you get wet, then you
will get cold, so please prepare yourself to remain as dry
as possible. Snowstorms are likely during your hunt, and in
the mountains the storms pose blizzard conditions.
When packing your bag(s) for the trip in,
it is best to use 2 or more medium to small sized duffel bags
rather than one large duffel bag and with no hard edges.
If you need emergency contact information
for your family while you are in hunting, please let us know
and we can provide the information for them prior to your hunt.

Slaughter
House Bale Blinds
The
Slaughter House Hay Bale Blind is designed to resemble
a large, round bale of
hay. It can be set the in your
desired hunting spot the same day of the hunt. It does
not require any additional cover nor does the hunter
have to prep the blind at all—simply set the
blind on the ground and hunt. Fibers are smashed between
two layers of netting with a blanket to give the blind
the look of hay. There is a door on one end of the
blind and can be cut to accommodate a wheel chair for
disabled hunters. The Slaughter House is perfect for
taking kids hunting as they will have the ability to
move around, as kids do, without being seen. http://www.shhaybaleblinds.com
